Thoughts
Guy Ritchie's series The Gentlemen is SO fun I could not stop watching it. It’s sexy and it’s dangerous, a roller coaster ride that not only entertains but also delivers. It might feel flashy at times, but it manages not to lose any of its substance (or substances, hey-oh) while it dazzles and delights. I never knew what was going to happen next, and I often had to force myself to turn off the TV in order to (begrudgingly) get some sleep. Theo James is fantastic as Eddie, Kaya Scodelario made me want to be Susie Glass, Daniel Ings was equal parts frustrating and endearing as Freddie, and Vinnie Jones as the quirky gamekeeper Geoffrey was a fan fave. It’s so crazy to me to think that all of the cast performances were so spot-on that I didn’t even mention Giancarlo Esposito absolutely dominating as Stanley Johnston in the previous sentence (shoutout to the aforementioned wardrobe department for the tiny embroidered SJ on his white collared shirt… a gorgeous detail). All in all, if you can commit to a wild ride, you will finish this series so satisfied with your decision. Totally BingeReady.
