Your Weekend Binge Watch: Wolfs
Available on AppleTV+; 1 hour 48 minutes, Comedy/Thriller
Watch it for a masterclass in acting at the highest level. George Clooney and Brad Pitt are equal parts suspense-builders and comic instigators, and Austin Abrams was fully committed and absolutely believable as Kid.
Synopsis
Hired to cover up a high-profile crime, a fixer soon finds his night spiraling out of control when he’s forced to work with an unexpected counterpart.

Thoughts
Is this the greatest movie ever made? No. Should you give it a chance anyway? Yes! Why? Because it was a lot of fun. Something I really enjoyed about Wolfs is that we get as much information as George Clooney’s character is willing and able to receive or give (we never even learn his name!). There’s something really interesting in getting to experience the events of this film with the co-leads as opposed to having all the information as an audience member and then watching them go through it. Although I was always guessing as to what was going on and was not always 100% clear as to what was happening, this is one of those movies where you have to trust in the journey and commit to being along for the ride. There were moments when I was as confused as the lead characters, times when I possessed real feelings of concern, and several instances where I laughed out loud. Sometimes I think audiences and critics can get so entrenched in what a movie means and whether or not it’s “great film” or “realistic enough” that they forget that movies are also supposed to entertain us and give us a glimpse into the lives of these characters. Wolfs gave me a look into the life and world of not one but two fixers and kept me entertained along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed the laughs I got out of this one – of course Clooney and Pitt are phenomenal, but Austin Abrams had me snorting like Miss Piggy on several occasions – and absolutely recommend Wolfs if you’re looking for something fun. Totally BingeReady.
