be silly

Happy Monday! Prior to last week’s video recap, I wrote two posts entitled “actively listen” and “be thankful.” It was another great weekend in Los Angeles filled with comedy, friendship, and dancing!

Do you like to dance? Do you have a favorite song that comes on that makes you feel like you just have to move and groove along with it? It’s one of my favorite things to do. In addition to taking a dance and movement class this past weekend, I also did a lot of dancing this past Saturday night.

I’ve written before about how important it is to stay balanced and to practice self-care, which is why I love to dance. I’m not a good dancer by any stretch of the imagination, but I think that’s part of the reason I love it so much. There are few things more freeing than being a silly goofball on the dance floor. It’s important to not take yourself too seriously and to have some fun along the way.

Do you have things you like to do for fun? Things that bring you joy and make you belly laugh? I’m incredibly lucky in that I get to live in Los Angeles and collaborate with some of the funniest people I’ve ever met - my tribe. Just yesterday, my friends from my sketch comedy class spent 15 minutes having one of the dumbest, silliest discussions I’ve ever been a part of. It was stupid and silly and incredibly fun, and I laughed so hard my eyes teared up.

It’s important to let things come to you. Of course it’s important to go after what you want, but so much of that also involves being open and flexible to receiving things you didn’t expect. You may accomplish more with blinders on, but you could miss out on something truly special that could make you see things in a new way. There’s no such thing as a self-made person; it takes a village to accomplish anything. And when you’re present and being your most authentic self, you’ll feel free and light - like the silly goofball dancing and shout-singing to her favorite song in the middle of the dance floor.

Thank you so much for reading, and, as always, if you have any pressing questions or if you want to discuss something further with me, please subscribe below, follow me on Instagram or Twitter, or reach out to me on the “contact” page. I’m so grateful you're here and that I’ve been getting a lot of really challenging questions and even better feedback from a community all over the world. I couldn’t do this without you! So THANK YOU! I’m here for you, and I love hearing from you, too! You’re the best, and you have everything you need inside of you! Please believe it! Starve your ego, feed your soul - and follow your heart!
